CONSIDER
Make two columns on a piece of paper by drawing a line down the middle. Compare these two landscape paintings. Title the first column "SAME" and write down all the things you see that they have in common. Look really closely. Imagine you are in the picture and use your senses. Title the other column "DIFFERENT" and write down all the ways that these two pictures are different. Again, use your senses and look carefully. Do you think they are more alike or more different from each other? Why?

CREATE
Choose the landscape that you think would be the most interesting to enter and explore.

Use your memories of being outdoors and exploring a new place. Write about what you see, hear, smell, and touch. Write about how it feels to be there. What happens to you in there? What are you doing? Where are you going? What will happen next? Try to include every observation you made from your list.

REFLECT
What did you see that made you more interested in this landscape than the other?

If someone read your description, would they know right away which of the two paintings you were in? What would be the biggest clues?
